The Give to Enable Support Program (the “Program”) is designed to promote access to Enable Accounts for Qualified Individuals without existing Enable Accounts by establishing Enable Accounts using distributions from the Give to Enable Support Cash Fund (the “Fund”).
Qualified Individuals who have an Enable Account established under the Program can use their Enable Accounts to pay their qualified disability expenses.
Eligibility
An Applicant is eligible for participation in the Program if they are a Qualified Individual who does not have an Enable Account (or an ABLE account in another state) at the time he or she is approved to become a participant in the Program. An Applicant is a Qualified Individual for a taxable year if, during that year, the individual (a) is entitled to benefits based on blindness or disability under Title II or XVI of the Social Security Act, or (b) certifies with the Enable Program Manager (or its authorized agent) that he or she meets the requirements of the ABLE Act and the Enable Savings Plan.
Application
A Give to Enable Support Program Application, in the form approved by the Enable Program Manager, must be completed and submitted to the Program Manager by June 1. Applications postmarked after the deadline will not be accepted.
Applications shall be approved on a first-come-first-served basis. All applications that meet the requirements of the Program and include all required information shall be approved to the extent funding for the Program allows. If an application is approved, the Program Manager will notify the Applicant in writing.
Establishment of Account
Applicants who are chosen for participation in the Program must establish an Enable Account and notify the Program Manager of the establishment of such Enable Account on or before April 1 of the year following the year of the Applicant’s application is approved.
An Enable Account established pursuant to the Program shall be funded from the Fund in the amount of $50.00 (or such other minimum amount necessary to establish an Enable Account at the time). Only one Enable Account shall be established for any single Applicant.
Forfeiture of Account Funding
An applicant who does not establish an Enable Account and notify the Program Manager thereof on or before the April 1 deadline shall be removed as a participant in the Program and shall not be eligible for funding from the Program for the year of the application. The applicant may, if eligible, apply to the Program in a later year. Amounts allocated to an applicant that are forfeited hereunder shall be available for applications accepted in later years.
